Multiplier orbs, explained properly.
Storm-and-gem games advertise huge golden multipliers, but the mechanic underneath is usually simple. This guide walks through the three questions that decode any multiplier badge you will ever see.
- What is being multiplied? A line score, a cascade chain, or a level-end total—each behaves very differently.
- When does it apply? Some orbs last one move, others a full round. Duration changes everything.
- What resets it? Failed moves, round ends or timer expiry. If the game won’t say, treat the number as decoration.
Remember: in every game we cover, a multiplier moves a scoreboard number. It is never money, never a prize, never a promise.
